Bounced from New York http://www.eaglescheapauthenticstore.com/shareef-miller-jersey-cheap , Ben McAdoo might get a new opportunity with the Browns.

McAdoo, who was fired as Giants coach in December after going 2-10 and benching star quarterback Eli Manning, is interviewing Tuesday to be the offensive coordinator for Cleveland coach Hue Jackson.

The 40-year-old McAdoo is meeting with general manager John Dorsey and Jackson, said the person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the team is not confirming any coaching interviews.

Jackson is still considering whether to bring on a coordinator after handling those duties the past two seasons. But after going 0-16 Zach Brown Jersey , Jackson said he was open to handing over play-calling duties and McAdoo has done that in the past.

McAdoo was New York’s offensive coordinator for two seasons before taking over as coach when Tom Coughlin left. McAdoo went 11-5 in 2016, but things unraveled for him after he demoted Manning, a two-time Super Bowl champion.

McAdoo has connections with Dorsey as they worked together for seven seasons in Green Bay. McAdoo coached the Packers tight ends and quarterbacks.

Jackson, who has overhauled his offensive staff Devin Bush Jersey , previously met with Houston quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan about the coordinator’s position. Also, former Tennessee coach Mike Mularkey, who was fired Monday, could be on the Browns’ radar.

Last week http://www.steelerscheapauthenticstore.com/diontae-johnson-jersey-cheap , Jackson hired former Giants wide receivers coach Adam Henry and Ken Zampese as his new quarterbacks coach. Zampese was fired last season as Cincinnati’s offensive coordinator.

Avoiding mistakes entirely as an NFL franchise is next to impossible. It's one of the most competitive leagues in the entirety of professional sports, and simply isn't conducive to consistent success for most teams. There's no surefire method that allows for perfect decision-making 100% of the time. Of course, everyone has their successes occasionally, but it's really the mistakes and the severity of them that can make or break a franchise. It's no surprise that the most catastrophic errors are usually applied to the NFL's worst teams on a perennial basis.Since 2010 Justin Layne Jersey , the league has seen a lot of turnover, and a lot of marquee decisions being made by most of franchises. We've seen new stars emerge, and older ones regress, along with plenty of miscalculated coaching hires and draft picks to go along with it. Some teams have overcome these mistakes http://www.steelerscheapauthenticstore.com/benny-snell-jr.-jersey-cheap , to remain a consistent threat, and for others it's meant the difference between relevance and mediocrity. Let's take a look at some of the most critical errors made by each team during this time, and how they've impacted the status of the franchise as a whole.Ranked below are the biggest mistakes for all 32 NFL teams since 2010.

After Yadier Molina’s two homers led the St. Louis Cardinals to a 3-2 win at Milwaukee Saturday Jordan Scarlett Jersey , manager Mike Matheny spoke hopefully of a bounce the win would create.

His instinct proved correct Sunday when St. Louis capped a rough road trip with an 8-2 rout that allowed it to salvage a split of a four-game series with the National League Central leaders and pushed it within 4 1/2 games of the Brewers.

The Cardinals open a six-game homestand Monday night in Busch Stadium with the second of four straight series against first-place teams, facing the Cleveland Indians.

St. Louis (40-36) scored just seven runs in its first three games in Milwaukee, whiffing 34 times, with 15 occurring in a 2-1 loss Friday night. It fanned another 11 times on Sunday but mixed in 10 hits, including a three-run homer by Jose Martinez to cap a five-run fourth inning that turned momentum for good.

While the Cardinals enter the series with hope that they are turning things around, Cleveland (43-33) did so during the last week. Its 12-2 rout Sunday of Detroit was its seventh straight win, moving it eight games ahead of the Tigers and Minnesota Twins in the American League Central.

The Indians also appear to have the mound advantage for the series opener with Mike Clevinger (6-2, 3.00 ERA) against spot starter John Gant (1-2, 4.39).

Clevinger’s last start was one of his best this year. He notched 10 strikeouts Tuesday night in 7 2/3 innings of a 6-3 win over the Chicago White Sox at Progressive Field. Clevinger has lasted at least six innings in five straight starts Jonah Williams Jersey , solidifying his place in a deep rotation.

“His fastball had really good life,” Chicago manager Rick Renteria told mlb.com. “He was keeping the ball down below the zone. You saw him get a lot of checked swings on some of his breaking pitches … he’s got a pretty good repertoire and was able to command consistently in the zone consistently throughout the whole ballgame.”

Gant is starting in place of Michael Wacha, who took his 8-2 record to the disabled list last week after suffering an oblique strain Wednesday in Philadelphia. The former Atlanta Braves prospect is 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA in three starts this year, leading some to wonder why Dakota Hudson (10-2 at Triple-A Memphis) or Daniel Poncedeleon was not picked to replace Wacha.

In his last start, Gant lasted 5 1/3 innings on May 25 in Pittsburgh, losing 8-1 despite fanning seven and walking none. He was charged with four hits and three runs.

Gant has made one career start against Cleveland, lasting two innings in a 2016 game for the Braves and permitting one run and three hits with two strikeouts.

Carlos Martinez (3-4, 3.24) starts Tuesday night for St. Louis opposite Corey Kluber (11-3, 2.10). Jack Flaherty (3-2 http://www.bengalscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-drew-sample-jersey , 2.50) faces the Indians’ Shane Bieber (2-0, 2.45) in a battle of rookie right-handers on Wednesday night.

Fitting for Independence Day, the Cincinnati Reds saved all their fireworks for the fourth.

Starting pitcher Sal Romano’s suicide squeeze capped Cincinnati’s six-run fourth inning, and the Reds rallied to beat the Chicago White Sox 7-4 on Wednesday night.

”It was nice to be able to contribute with the bat,” said Romano, who was hitting .038 going into the game. ”The first thought when I saw the signal, I thought the number one thing was get the ball down wherever the pitch was. I was excited. I have never done it before. It was definitely a big insurance run and got the out of the game.”

Jesse Winker and Jose Peraza each had a two-run single during the big inning, and Scooter Gennett also singled in a run. The Reds overcame Daniel Palka’s third home run in two games to win the three-game series and complete a 4-3 homestand before a crowd of 24,442 Germaine Pratt Jersey , which stayed for a postgame fireworks show.

The Reds have won 13 of 17 and have come from behind in eight of their last 11 wins.

Yoan Moncada added a two-run homer for the White Sox, who have dropped five of seven and 14 of 20.

Cincinnati improved to 8-2 in interleague play, the most wins since going 11-9 in 2013. The White Sox are 4-11 against NL teams.

Romano (5-8) struck out six and allowing six hits and four runs in five innings. His bunt back to the mound brought home Adam Duvall for the final run of Cincinnati’s breakout fourth inning.

Reds relievers Amir Garrett and Michael Lorenzen teamed up for 2 1/3 scoreless innings before Jared Hughes celebrated his 33rd birthday by pitching the final 1 2/3 for his sixth save.

Dylan Covey retired his first nine batters before the Reds erupted for five hits and six runs while sending 10 batters to the plate in the fourth. Winker and Peraza each had a two-run single before Romano’s bunt knocked Covey (3-4) out of the game. Covey allowed a walk, struck out two and hit a batter in 3 2/3 innings.

”I was trying to get ground balls, but I was leaving my pitches elevated,” Covey said. ”I tried to make adjustments. That’s not my game, I’ve got to keep the ball down.”

”Their guy was shutting us down pretty good,” Reds interim manager Jim Riggleman said. ”We saw some things from him better the second time around. We put together some good at-bats.”

Moncada, whose 12th-inning bases-loaded triple broke open Chicago’s 12-3 win Tuesday http://www.bengalscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-ryan-finley-jersey , gave the White Sox a 2-0 lead with a two-out, two-run homer in the third. Palka went deep for a 3-0 lead in the fourth.

The Reds added a run in the eighth on pitcher Chris Volstad’s bases-loaded throwing error.

    EXPLOSIVE

The Reds sent nine or more batters to the plate in one inning in five of the seven games on the just-completed homestand.

    SHREWD MOVE

Billy Hamilton, who entered the game as a pinch-runner in the sixth and stayed in to play center field, threw out Jose Abreu at the plate trying to score from second to end the eighth – Hamilton’s eighth assist of the season, tying Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber for the NL lead among outfielders.

    SHAKEUP

The Reds traded RHP Dylan Floro and a minor league pitcher to the Los Angeles Dodgers for two minor league pitchers, optioned IF/OF Brandon Dixon to Triple-A Louisville and recalled RHP Tanner Rainey and LHP Cody Reed from Louisville before Wednesdays game.

    DON’T FORGET TO WRITE

A 10-day, nine-game road trip and the All-Star break will keep the Reds away from Cincinnati until July 20.

    TRAINER’S ROOM

White Sox: Abreu returned to Chicago’s lineup after leaving Monday’s game and missing Tuesday’s with a bruised left ankle from a foul ball.

Reds: Gennett reported no problems from having his left hand bent back while trying to make a catch on Adam Engel’s bunt Tuesday.

    UP NEXT

White Sox: LHP Carlos Rodon (1-3) faces the Astros on Thursday. He is 1-0 with a 1.71 ERA in four career starts against Houston.

Reds: RHP Tyler Mahle (6-6) faces the Cubs on Friday at Wrigley Field. Mahle was 3-0 with a 2.18 ERA in five June starts.

ESPN’s all-rookie team included not one Stitched Trai Turner Jersey , but two members of Carolina’s 2018 draft class. Despite a disappointing 2018 campaign, the Carolina Panthers have displayed a plethora of promise for the future. Rookies Donte Jackson and D.J. Moore have a lot to do with that. They were selected to ESPN’s all-rookie team, which featured talents such as Saquon Barkley, Baker Mayfield, and other rookies who performed well on the big stage in 2018. Moore and Jackson were on that list, not as honorable mentions Youth Ryan Kalil Jersey , but as front-runners. That says a lot about their performances for our Panthers this past season.Donte Jackson is “like that!” (as he says...) Jackson was overlooked as he was selected 55th overall in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The rookie cornerback played with a huge chip on his shoulder, and his performance this season displayed that. Jackson had 74 combined tackles, four interceptions, and one forced fumble as he started every game for the Panthers. He lead all rookie corners in interceptions this season.Watch as he takes a Drew Brees interception to the house on an attempted two-point conversion:D.J. Moore also exceeded expectations with his rookie season. Moore was Carolina’s first pick in last year’s draft, so he received high expectations almost immediately after he was drafted. Luckily, his on-field performance didn’t disappoint. He had 788 receiving yards and two touchdowns Stitched Ryan Kalil Jersey , along with 172 rushing yards. And let’s remember this: Cam Newton’s shoulder injury prevented Moore from having more opportunities on deep routes. Imagine the damage Moore can do once Cam is back at one-hundred percent. It’s exciting to see that there’s “Moore” potential waiting to be unleashed. Watch Moore display his tremendous athleticism as he takes this catch for six against the Falcons:Which rookie do you think had the better season, Panthers fans? Share your thoughts with us! The only question is how many new starters will the Panthers have in 2019."As we say in the South, the Panthers have a tough row to hoe with regards to its offensive line this offseason. With the retirement of center Ryan Kalil four of the five offensive line positions could have a new starter in 2019. I see Trai Turner returning at right guard as a lock. It gets a lot less certain from there.Certainly Taylor Moton will land at one of the tackle positions, preferably left tackle. That would allow Darryl Williams to slide back in at right tackle once he is healthy. If Moton is more valuable at right tackle then we still have Matt Kalil, who says he is healthy and ready to get back on the field. I’m not as quick as others throw in the towel on the younger Kalil, but he is on his last opportunity. Plus that quote doesn’t really give me a big warm and fuzzy. Seems you need something driving you to get through a NFL season. How about Tyler Larson at center? I’m thinking the Panthers could try to upgrade from Larson Dennis Daley Carolina Panthers Jersey ,who could still remain multi-position back-up. You can say the same for left guard Greg Van Roten. We could have two new free agents in both positions.Best case scenarioThe Panthers re-sign Darryl Williams to play right tackle next to Trai Turner at right guard. Matt Kalil kicks inside and proves to be a serviceable left guard. Taylor Moton turns into a Pro Bowl left tackle. Finally we sign a kick ass free agent to play center and BAM! There you go! Top 10 offensive line.A more likely scenarioThe Panthers cut Kalil taking a $14 million dead money hit (more than his $12 million salary). I do see the Panthers bringing back Darryl Williams, they would be crazy not too provided he is healthy. Less certain is whether Moton can play the left side. If Moton is smart he is spending the entire offseason boning up on playing the left side. If not Moton at left tackle then one of the two right tackles has to kick inside to guard. Moton seems like he would be better at left guard. In this scenario we have to bring in a free agent or pray we can find a decent option in the draft. That actually sounds too risky to fall in this category.Worst case scenarioThe Panthers essentially do nothing in free agency, instead choosing to rely on the draft and who they have on the roster at the moment. They let Williams walk for whatever reason. Turner and Moton return to the right side which is good, but we end up with Larson at center and Van Roten and Kalil filling out the left side. Does that line up instill any confidence Cam Newton won’t get roughed up yet again in 2019? It doesn’t too me either. In the end we should expect something in the middle. The Panthers aren’t going to land one of the top free agents at left tackle. Actually they rarely land a top free agent at any position. This offseason that could change. We do after all have Marty Hurney back at general manager. As nice as it sounds I’m not holding my breath though it would be one way for new owner David Tepper to break with history. Spending big money to protect your $100 million quarterback seems like a shrewd move if you look at the potential benefits. If the Panthers stick with their history they will bring in a second tier guy who we hope suddenly turns his career around. Our only other hope is we spend an early draft pick or two on the offensive line. Which do you think is more likely Panthers fans? I’ve got a poll for you.

The best play callers keep defenses off balance by using deception and breaking tendencies, hopefully Greg Roman is an upgrade over Marty Mornhinweg in this regard.Top-10 Free Agent Wide Receivers in 2019 - Austin GayleThe 2019 crop of free agents receivers does not align well with the Ravens needs. Of the top six, only Tyrell Williams and John Brown do not primarily line up in the slot. Baltimore does not need another slot man because Willie Snead filled that role admirably last season. In all likelihood, Eric DeCosta will add playmakers on the outside through the draft.Ranking all 52 Super Bowls - Elliot HarrisonPittsburgh’s 35-31 victory over Dallas in Super Bowl XIII ranked first on Harrison’s list. The Ravens went down to Kansas City and valiantly battled the hottest team in the AFC. It took four full quarters plus extra time to end the contest as Baltimore narrowly lost to the the Chiefs. While some saw this game as great news of Lamar and the defense being capable of going head-to-head on the road with a Super Bowl contender, others felt it continues to show the Ravens aren’t a contender, they’re a tier away. It’s understandable to see a slight shake of confidence here Stitched Maxx Williams Jersey , and I agree a bit with the final poll. The Ravens went into this game with a great matchup. Great defense with a good offense and the possibility of stealing a great road game and applying pressure to every other playoff hopeful in the conference and overtake Pittsburgh for the AFC North lead. Unfortunately, the close overtime contests have not gone in the Ravens’ way recently, even with the best kicker in the NFL being a great advantage due to his kicking range in sudden death contests.Even with the loss, though, things look brighter than before. Weeks ago, head coach John Harbaugh was dealing with rumors of his demise as the leader of the franchise. Now Youth Maxx Williams Jersey , fans are cheering hard, ticket prices are up and the Ravens are a half-game out from leading the AFC North. The emergence of Lamar Jackson is clearly a factor here, too. Once he stepped up and boosted this running attack (with the help of Gus Edwards Jr. and now Kenneth Dixon), the team is back to their historical ways. Grind a defense down to pulp, keep your own defense fresh and unleash the pass rush in the waning seconds of the game to keep you up in close contests. It ain’t pretty, but it’s Baltimore football Stitched Ronnie Stanley Jersey , baby.

There were certainly a host of high-profile names to emerge from the 2016 NFL Draft Renell Wren Jersey , and during the regular season we got to see many of them in action. As usual before the season started, projections ran wild on which ones would succeed, which ones would fail, and which ones would merely be good value for the round they were drafted in. It's fair to say that we got our fair share of surprises as a result, and some of the consensus predictions were right on the money. With that said, it was only one season, and all of the rookies from 2016 could stand to improve, or regress in the upcoming 2017 campaign. Some of these players are stuck in less ideal situations than others, but all estimations are fair game when it comes to NFL players, regardless of their circumstances. There's no question that everyone this list has raw talent to at least some degree, but their style of play may be hindered or elevated by the NFL style of play, depending on who it is. Either way, these are some intriguing names to pay attention to as they enter their second season of NFL play.Ranked below are eight NFL rookies from last season who will take the next step in the 2017 season http://www.thebengalsfootballauthentic.com/michael-jordan-jersey-authentic , and seven who will regress. The Seattle Mariners have made a habit this year of mounting comebacks, winning by one run and prevailing in extra innings.

They combined all three of those traits in a rousing, drama-filled matchup with the Baltimore Orioles.

Denard Span hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the 11th inning after Kyle Seager delivered a two-run homer in the ninth, and the Mariners pulled out an 8-7 victory Wednesday night.

Playing without injured Nelson Cruz for a second straight game, Seattle got a home run from Ryon Healy and collected 14 hits while improving its record in extra innings to 7-0.

It was the Mariners’ major league-leading 25th one-run victory, and it marked the 16th comeback win in which they have taken the lead in the seventh inning or later.

In this one, Seattle gave up a deflating three-run homer to Chris Davis in the eighth inning before rallying.

”We’ve had some great wins this year. We’ve done a lot of this at home,” manager Scott Servais said. ”To do this on the road, after giving up the big home run in the eighth inning, it’s how we’re wired. We play all 27 outs, guys don’t quit. They figure out and find a way.”

The Mariners came to town having lost six of seven. Now, after winning three straight over the lowly Orioles, they can complete the first four-game road sweep of Baltimore in franchise history.

Seattle has never swept a two-game series in Baltimore http://www.clevelandbrownsteamonline.com/sione-takitaki-jersey , and its last three-game sweep of the Orioles on the road was in 2007.

Cruz has been bothered by a sore lower back, but the Mariners have done just fine without him.

Jean Segura led off the 11th with a double against Mychal Givens (0-5), and Span drove in the go-ahead run with a deep fly to center off Donnie Hart.

Chasen Bradford (5-0) worked the 10th and Edwin Diaz got three outs for his major league-leading 30th save, a club record before the All-Star break. He has earned the save in each game of this series.

”We have stepped up and started playing great baseball,” Diaz said. ”Our defense, hitting and pitching are all doing great. We’re in a good moment right now.”

The Orioles trailed 5-4 in the eighth inning before Davis interrupted his season-long slump with a shot off Alex Colome. The drive, on a 3-1 pitch, soared onto Eutaw Street far beyond the right-field wall.

Davis entered the game with a .147 batting average, and on Friday returned from an eight-game hiatus in which he worked to get his swing back. This was his second home run since coming back, and it produced a rare feel-good moment for a struggling team and its belabored slugger.

Then, in the Seattle ninth, Mitch Haniger singled off Zach Britton and Seager delivered his 15th home run and second in two nights.

Britton, who has pitched in only eight games this season after returning from surgery on a torn Achilles tendon Sheldrick Redwine Jersey , said, ”I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. I didn’t want it to be like this, but it is what it is and I’ve just got to push through it.”

Much earlier, Seattle made up deficits of 2-0 and 4-2 to take a 5-4 lead in the fifth inning against Alex Cobb.

Baltimore has lost four in a row overall and 14 of 15 at home.

    DO THE HUSTLE

Orioles shortstop Manny Machado heard some boos Tuesday night when he trotted to first base after hitting into a 4-6-3 double play.

Manager Buck Showalter promised the matter would be addressed, and he did so on Wednesday.

”He’s better than that,” Showalter said. ”It’s a really bad presentation, and he knows that. The toughest thing about it is that it’s a poor presentation of what he’s really about.”

    ALL-STAR ENDORSEMENT

Machado leads AL shortstops in fan voting for the All-Star Game, but Servais believes Jean Segura is playing well enough to be a backup.

”There are a lot of good shortstops out there, but our guy ranks top five in almost every statistical category,” Servais insisted.

Segura is batting .338 with 44 RBIs. He’s got nine errors but has displayed exceptional range.

    TRAINER’S ROOM

Mariners: Servais says Cruz ”is moving in the right direction” and could return Thursday.

Orioles: RHP Darren O’Day (hamstring) and OF Craig Gentry (rib fracture) were placed on the 10-day disabled list.

    UP NEXT

Mariners: Mike Leake (8-4, 4.11 ERA) gets his 17th start in the series finale.

Orioles: Recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Jimmy Yacabonis will make his first major league start Thursday in place of injured Dylan Bundy.

San Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria has elected to have surgery on his broken left hand Andy Isabella Jersey , hoping that can speed his return to the field.

Longoria was injured Thursday when he was hit in the hand by a pitch from Miami’s Dan Straily. Longoria underwent an examination in Los Angeles on Saturday morning and said surgery was not required.

The procedure could improve his recovery time, he said.

”Hopefully soon after the All-Star break, I should be back,” Longoria said before the Giants played the Dodgers. ”It shouldn’t be too long before I can start the process of strengthening it. Once the incision heals, it’s pretty much pain tolerance.”

”It’s best to say six to eight weeks, but I have a hard time telling myself that http://www.cardinalscheapstore.com/zach-allen-jersey-cheap ,” Longoria said. ”I’ll definitely push for some time soon after the All-Star break.”

The surgery will be done Tuesday in Los Angeles by hand specialist Steven Shin and a permanent pin will be inserted in Longoria’s left hand.

The 32-year-old Longoria is batting .246 with 10 home runs in his first season with the Giants, and was tied for the team lead with 34 RBIs.

Longoria was a three-time All-Star in 10 seasons with Tampa Bay before being traded to the Giants last winter.

Earlier this month, we were treated to that one night a year when women actually want to watch football. The fiftieth Super Bowl in the history of the NFL was really nothing special. It was a defensive battle, and wasn't one sided like the 2014 game, but number fifty didn't stack up against last year's final minute end zone interception. The Carolina Panthers and victorious Denver Broncos put on a half decent show and four-time All-Pro outside linebacker Von Miller took the MVP award for his 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Peyton Manning, widely considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the game Hakeem Butler Jersey , was below average in the game. For the most part, if you're getting into the Super Bowl, you're playing for a top tier team. Additionally, as the quarterback is (at least in modern football), the most important player on the field, only teams who have invested in solid field generals are making it to the big game http://www.bengalscheapstore.com/jonah-williams-jersey-cheap , with some notable exceptions.Plenty of quarterbacks such as Kerry Collins (XXXV), Craig Morton (XII) and Rich Gannon (XXXVII) rank among the most notorious quarterbacks to make the Super Bowl and absolutely abort the game, but what about those who make it, win it, but end up thanking their entire teams for covering their butts while they almost blow it? Here are the fifteen worst Super Bowl performances of quarterbacks who won.

The Titans still need a little bit of help to make the playoffs http://www.thetitanslockerroom.com/authentic-bennie-logan-jersey , but above all else, they just have to take care of their own business. They’ve done that in back to back weeks against the Jets and the Jaguars, moving to 7-6 on the year. Now they’ll have to go back on the road against an interesting New York Giants team. The Giants are a disappointing 5-8 this year, but they’re 4-1 over their last five games. A big reason why is Saquon Barkley, who the Giants have ridden all season long. The second overall pick in last year’s draft has lived up to his billing to this point. The only problem is that the Giants still haven’t solved their issue at quarterback.Eli Manning is still going at 37 years old, throwing for over 3,400 yards and 18 touchdowns so far this year. Those touchdown numbers were propped up last week as Manning threw three in the New York’s blowout of Washington. He did that without the help of Odell Beckham Jr., who missed Sunday’s game with a bruised quad. Beckham’s status is still up in the air for Sunday’s game against the Titans.Even with that news lingering out there, the Giants opened as three point favorites. That number has come down to 2.5 since. The total currently stands at 43.5.The Giants rank in the bottom half of most defensive categories statistically. Their run defense took a hit when they traded Damon Harrison to the Lions, so this may be a spot where the Titans can ride Derrick Henry once again.Tennessee should have their opportunities to score points here, but can they keep Barkley contained? That’s the key. If the run defense from last Thursday night shows up again, the Titans will be in good shape. But as we all know Rashaan Evans Jersey , consistency isn’t exactly this team’s best attribute. Marcus Mariota faces a big year in 2019. The Titans picked up the $20.9 million option on Mariota’s rookie contract, even though they still can’t be sure he’s their franchise quarterback. The second overall pick in 2015 has not made a Pro Bowl and has failed to stay healthy.General Manager Jon Robinson did not throw all of his support behind Mariota when asked if his “commitment to Marcus Mariota is the same as it’s been since you arrived?” Instead, Robinson all but conceded the obvious: Mariota still has a lot to prove, starting with availability. “Marcus has done a good job for us,” Robinson said on The Midday 180, via Paul Kuharsky of paulkuharsky.com. “He’s made some big plays in my time here. He’s a tough guy. He’s been dinged up, but when he’s been out there he’s done a lot of good things for us, and I’m glad he’s on this football team. He needs to take some time and get some rest and get healthy. I know he’s itching to come back out and work in April whenever we start back. I think nothing is more important to him than his teammates, really loves his teammates. It’s really key. Looking forward to seeing him when he gets back here in April.”Having invested so much in Mariota — from a high draft pick to millions of dollars — the Titans are rooting for him to stay healthy and be productive in 2019. The Titans then would gladly pay Mariota, convinced they have their franchise quarterback.

EDTShareTweetShareShareBuccaneers’ 2019 preseason opponents releasedIt’s April, which means schedules for the upcoming NFL season start to trickle out little by little. On Tuesday, the league announced matchups for all four weeks of the preseason, withfull details of exact dates and times to be announced at a later date. The 2019 preseason schedule for the Buccaneers is as follows:Week 1 (Aug. 9, 7:30 p.m.): at Pittsburgh SteelersWeek 2 (Aug. 15-19): vs. Miami DolphinsWeek 3 (Aug. 22-25): vs. Cleveland BrownsWeek 4 (Aug. 29-30): at Dallas CowboysThat preseason opener in Pittsburgh on Aug. 9 will give new Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians a special re-debut, as he is a native of York, Pennsylvania and also won two Super Bowls an assistant with the Steelers. In week two Scott Miller Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jersey , the Bucs will meet up with the Dolphins in Tampa. That matchup has been a common one throughout the years as far as preseason goes, and it will give the two teams a chance to run joint practices leading up to the exhibition. Tampa Bay will also host the Cleveland Browns in preseason action, marking the fourth time in the last five years that the two have met in August. This time will be a bit different, as the Browns could be a hot pick to win the AFC North after making some big moves — including making a trade for Odell Beckham Jr. — in the offseason. Of course, Beckham and the other new additions join an already-impressive core of young players that helped Cleveland to a 7-8-1 record in 2018, just one year after the team went 0-16.The Bucs round out their preseason with a first, as they will meet the Dallas Cowboys in exhibition play for the first time ever. After that trip to Dallas, the Bucs will return home to prepare for the 2019 regular season. All four preseason games will be televised locally by WFLA-TV. Exact dates and times for weeks two through four, as well as the regular season schedule, should be available as the month rolls on.

Extending Russell Wilson, the..."If your quarterback appears to be franchise-caliber, you must pay him. This is the modus operandi of the NFL as every front office subscribes to this line of thought. Extending Russell Wilson, the most important player on the Seattle Seahawks, had to happen. John Schneider did it in an intelligent manner too. For the next three years, the contract fits what Seattle is trying to do. This year a few additions are needed, but the Seahawks should be able to make a serious push for the ultimate goal of a Lombardi Trophy. Brady (twice), Eli Manning and Steve Young. Young holds the record for the highest cap percentage to win the Lombardi Trophy at 13.1%. You’ll notice that figure is below Wilson’s 2019 number of 13.98%. I’ll repeat, Wilson’s 2019 cap percentage is the lowest on his new deal. Other passers have got close, on example being Drew Brees last season. The 40-year-old accounted for 12.1% of New Orleans Saints’ salary cap, and we all know how close they got in the NFC Championship Game. Based on the research of Tom Mead at Inside the Pylon, in the last 15 seasons just nine of the 51 starting quarterbacks in the championship games were paid more than 12% of the salary cap.The total cap number will continue to climb, which should see the cap percentage Wilson accounts for in the other years of his contract drop. Yet, it’s almost certain that Wilson will have to set a cap record to win another Super Bowl title. The jackpot of a rookie quarterback contract after hitting on a newly drafted passer is undeniable. Having extra cap space buys a Front Office extra room for mistakes, even if they are trying to invest their cap wisely rather than splurging space for the sake of it.While this thought process based around quarterback cap percentage challenges the typical thinking of roster construction, it ignores the fact that winning a Super Bowl is incredibly difficult. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s success, aided by a soft AFC East, have warped what we think is possible. Peyton Manning’s second victory above the 11% was largely thanks to a historic defense. Eli Manning owed a lot of thanks to that side of the ball too. How often does the most talented team in the NFL end up as the overall winner?Andrew Brandt clearly disagrees with the criticism of paying a quarterback: It’s also true that an elite quarterback is how to regularly win and be in contention in the NFL. This isn’t Madden where you can reload your game if you don’t get the QB with the “superstar” development trait. Perhaps that will be the new line of thinking, and it’s something the Los Angeles Rams might do with Jarred Goff—surround a rookie who can throw to space with superstar talent in a high-powered, repetitive offense and keep churning though the position.Overall, though, the alternative is dire and a teams odds get a lot longer. Finding quarterbacks who can consistently play well in the NFL is really hard. Some excellent work was done by @moo12152 which showed that teams did not get worse with a larger percentage of cap room paid to the quarterback—even on defense.Getting over the hump is difficult and having as much talent as possible does of course help. The question, really, is this: is Russell Wilson closer to the Tom Brady’s and Peyton Manning’s than he is to Joe Flacco or Matt Stafford? Is being “elite” ranking in the top 3 quarterbacks, massively elevating an entire team? Does Wilson not do that in his own way?Respected film analyst Voch Lombardi said this, ranking the criminally underrated Matt Ryan ahead of Wilson. The usage of “elite” is Jaron Brown Jersey , of course, subjective:I feel those trying to evaluate quarterbacks traditionally get lose in that sauce—another factor we can partially blame on Brady and Manning. Wilson is an elite franchise quarterback, just in a particularly unique way. Yes, he has his flaws, with some of the causation being environmental from the years of horrendous offensive lines. Wilson can: hold the ball too long; struggle to process zone; struggle to play in structure; be skittish in the pocket. What makes him so incredible as a quarterback is his ability to succeed despite these bad traits. It disagrees with the conventional logic of the position. Amongst frustrating plays, there is brilliance never seen before in Seattle. For instance, his elite abilities to: throw guys open against man with pinpoint accuracy; place the ball perfectly against trail; throw at funky arm angles; regularly extend plays; and suit up for every game. Last season there was an overly skewed tendency to run the football. Yet the passing concepts that Brian Schottenheimer gave Wilson often brought the best out of his quarterback. Whether Pete Carroll wants to operate with a more risky offense is another question, as is wondering if Wilson’s skillset even fits this approach. That’s where his uniqueness comes in: he’s much better against single-high defense. But, if the 2019 offense maintains the same passing concepts, gains some more weapons and becomes less cautious, Wilson should be in for a career year. Quarterback Wins are a dreadfully flawed stat, but Wilson wins games. They had to pay him and the Seahawks did. SANTA CLARA http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-roger-craig-jersey , Calif. (AP) — Generating pressure on the quarterback has never been a major problem for DeForest Buckner since entering the NFL in 2016. Turning that pressure into sacks, however, was missing his first two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.Buckner has finally started to put the whole package together this season, becoming one of the league’s top inside rushers and justifying the 49ers’ first-round investment made a few years ago.Buckner recorded two more sacks last week against Seattle’s Russell Wilson, giving him 11 on the season to join Aldon Smith as the only 49ers players to reach double-digits in sacks in the past 16 seasons. After recording just nine sacks total in his first two seasons, Buckner set a goal of reaching double-digits this year. He’s done that with two games to spare and earned Pro Bowl alternate honors for his work.“I knew I could do it and I worked my tail off in the offseason to get there,” he said. “I’d like to thank most of my teammates. It’s not one guy, it’s the whole unit up front rushing as a team. Eventually if you rush as a team, someone will get rewarded.”That player has been Buckner so often this year after his work as a rusher often went overlooked his first two seasons when he didn’t pile up the sacks.Buckner had 76 quarterback pressures his first two seasons, according to SportRadar, a number that put him near the top among players who primarily rush the passer from the inside instead of the edge. But of the 60 players in the league who had at least 50 pressures during 2015-16, only six had fewer sacks than the nine Buckner recorded, a cause of much frustration. This year, the sacks have started to come, with Buckner recording 6 1/2 sacks the past six games, including four in two meetings against the elusive Wilson.“It’s really just taking advantage of the one-on-ones I get and also finding a way through double teams,” he said. “There were a couple of times this year I got a sack through double teams. It’s just finding that extra step and finishing.”This production is coming at just the right time for Buckner, who will go into the final year of his rookie contract in 2019. If San Francisco can’t reach a long-term deal with Buckner this offseason, the organization will undoubtedly exercise the fifth-year option to keep Buckner in place through 2020 Garry Gilliam Jersey White , but reaching a deal for longer will assuredly be a priority once the season is over.Coach Kyle Shanahan said having a player like Buckner who can provide that inside push only makes the entire defense better.“You can have guys get up the field all day and if there’s nothing in the middle, all the quarterback has to do is step up and just let those guys run around them and have a true pocket,” he said. “Even if the tackles aren’t truly blocking the guys one-on-one, just stay inside out, run them up the field and tell the quarterback not to get deep. That’s extremely hard when you have guys on the inside. You tell them not to get deep, but guys are in his face so you either run into them or get balls tipped or you back up and that’s when the edge guys get sack fumbles.”NOTES: LB Mark Nzeocha (groin) and T Joe Staley (not injury related) didn’t practice. … RB Matt Breida (ankle), S Antone Exum (hip), C Weston Richburg (knee), LB Malcolm Smith (Achilles), S Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) and CB K’Waun Williams (knee) were limited. … The Niners signed WR Jordan Smallwood to the practice squad. Fans typically look for honesty from the members of the team, let it be coaches or players, but rarely do they receive openness from their favorite teams. At the end of the year press conference two weeks ago, 49ers’ head coach Kyle Shanahan might have let out too much, admitting something that fans spend way too much time dwelling on — the “What If” scenarios?Shanahan and general manager John Lynch were asked about their expectations for 2018 and how their performance pales in comparison to those preseason wishes. Here is the 49ers’ head coach’s response:It’s not often that one hears a coach say “we should” have done this, but it was refreshing to hear Shanahan open up with the media. But how factually accurate was his statement? Should the San Francisco 49ers have finished the season 7-9?Let’s try and decode which three games that Shanahan is referring to and see what the 49ers could have done differently in each of those to come away victorious instead. Looking down their schedule, the 49ers lost five games by five points or less, so it must be one of those games. These close losses were at the Chargers, at the Packers, at the Cardinals http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-ahkello-witherspoon-jersey , vs. the Giants and vs. the Bears. Chargers 29 - 49ers 27Photo by Kevork Djansezian/Getty ImagesThis loss is one that’s sure to irk Shanahan and one that he thinks the 49ers should have in the W column. San Francisco went up 27-26 off of the right foot of kicker Robbie Gould and the 49ers’ defense was able to hold quarterback Phillip Rivers and the Chargers’ offense to three points on the next drive, making it 29-27, Chargers. The 49ers’ offense had two more chances, one being a three-and-out and the other being a C.J. Beathard interception that ended the game. After being up for a majority of the game, the 49ers allowed the Chargers to rally back in the game and couldn’t hold them off.Cardinals 18 - 49ers 15Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty ImagesThe next loss that probably still keeps Shanahan up at night is probably the second Cardinals’ loss, where the Cardinals took the lead late in the fourth quarter and that was the difference in the game. With 11:06 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Cardinals had only scored three points, were showing no signs of life and were down two possessions to the 49ers. That’s when it flipped, as the Cardinals scored two touchdowns, with no response from the 49ers and it all ended on a third-and-goal pass to wide out Christian Kirk to seal the game with 1:42 left in the game. The 49ers’ fourth-quarter offense was pathetic and something Shanahan would probably want back if he could go back in time.Giants 27 - 49ers 23Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty ImagesThe Monday Night Football showdown against the Giants at Levi’s Stadium is surely one the 49ers coach would want to avenge. With 2:46 left in the game, the 49ers were up 23-20, kicking the ball back to quarterback Eli Manning and Co. The Giants had not shown life all season long and with the 49ers’ home crowd behind them, most expected the defense to be able to stop Manning. With 53 seconds left, Manning was able to find wide receiver Sterling Shepard for a touchdown. Quarterback Nick Mullens tried to drive the ball down for the 49ers, but it was too little too late. Playing the hypothetical game doesn’t help now, but it gives great insight into what Shanahan thinks the 49ers are capable of doing late in these games. It’s been the story of the 49ers’ seasons since Lynch and Shanahan took over — the late-game collapses. Hopefully in 2019, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and Shanahan don’t leave these 50-50 games in the air and are able to seal the deal late.

Here’s the latest injury updates for the Texans as the playoffs get ready to begin."This Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CST http://www.thetexanslockerroom.com/authentic-julien-davenport-jersey , the Texans will play the Colts in the first game of the NFL Playoffs. Houston is no stranger to 3:30 p.m. playoff games, so Saturday is nothing new. The Texans won the AFC South championship by beating the Jaguars and dodging any serious injuries last Sunday. In that win, J.J. Watt hurt his arm a bit, put on a second brace, and was back out there in the second half. This little nick won’t affect his play as Watt gets ready for the Wild Card game against Andrew Luck.Johnathan Joseph was inactive for the Jaguars game, but he too is expected to play against the Colts. He’s “trending to returning” on Saturday, and Houston will need him to cover T.Y. Hilton, something the Texans have been unable to do since Hilton arrived in Indy.J-Jo may also need to chip in covering Zach Pascal and Dontrelle Inman. Finally, Keke Coutee has been practicing. The same hamstring that’s limited Coutee all year is still bothering him; he has missed ten games because of it.I can’t even remember the last time I saw Coutee play. There’s a chance he could play this weekend. I hold my breath going through every tunnel, but I won’t be with regard to Coutee playing on Saturday. There you have it. The Texans are relatively healthy for their playoff opener, except for Coutee Womens Kendall Lamm Jersey , who hasn’t played much at all his rookie season. The NFL is sticking with its officiating emphasis on quarterback hits, including those in which the tackler uses all or most of his body weight when falling on the quarterback.NFL football operations chief Troy Vincent said Thursday that the powerful competition committee has clarified to game officials the techniques used in such hits, which have been a source of debate through the first three weeks of the schedule. Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews has been called for three of them, two of which appeared to be normal tackles.A lack of consistency on such calls also has been a source of contention throughout the league. In its regularly scheduled conference call, the committee reviewed video of such plays from 2017 and this year."In reiterating its position on quarterback protection," Vincent says, "the committee determined there would be no changes to the point of emphasis approved this spring, or to the rule of which the body weight provision has been in place since 1995."The inconsistency led Matthews to suggest the league has gone soft. He argued that what constitutes a clean hit is anybody's guess nowadays."I don't know if that statement really expresses how they're going to call it moving forward," he said Thursday, adding if it will be status quo, "If that's the case Womens Ibraheim Campbell Jersey , that's truly unfortunate because I think I speak on behalf of everybody that doesn't like the rule and the way it's being called and the way it's being officiated." Furthermore after seeing the video, too, all hits on the quarterback that came from straight on 鈥?which is what they teach you since peewee football with running backs, receivers or whatever, is to approach them head on if you can 鈥?those were all illegal hits, much like the two hits I had on Cousins and (Alex) Smith last week, which were conveniently left out of the video."Compounding the complaints: Dolphins DE William Hayes tore his right ACL trying to avoid landing on Raiders QB Derek Carr."He was trying to not put body weight on the quarterback," coach Adam Gase said of Hayes. "His foot got caught in the ground."He's one of our leaders and best run defender. That's going to be a tough one for us to swallow."Many of the calls have been difficult for defensive players and their coaches to swallow, and they've even gotten some support from quarterbacks."It helps me out because I'm a quarterback," said Deshaun Watson of the Texans. "But some of the calls are just kind of crazy."The competition committee's decision to remain with the status quo doesn't mean there will continue to be a flurry of such penalties. By clarifying the technique, the league is attempting to find some uniformity in the calls."I think we all have felt like it's all gone a little bit too far Womens Christian Covington Jersey ," said Fox analyst Mike Pereira, the former head of NFL officials. "But I think it'll seek a level that will get it back in sync with what the players think and what we all think."You know any time you put a new point of emphasis in, there's a point of adjustment to the players and the officials ... so again, an adjustment by both groups, the players and the officials."There have been 34 roughing-the-passer calls so far. While that works out to just one flag for every 100 pass attempts, it represents a massive increase over previous years. There were 16 such penalties through three weeks last season and 20 the year before that.Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, the top overall pick in the 2017 draft who had a roughing penalty in Week 1 rescinded by the league, sympathizes with Matthews and fellow defenders."It's ridiculous," he said Thursday. "I feel bad for Clay Matthews. He just can't win at this point right now. I mean I'm going to take them down how I have to. I saw what happened with Willie Hayes and that was, I wouldn't say depressing, but it was sad to see him doing his best to abide by the rules and get hurt."Garrett added he wouldn't risk injury to " lay him on the ground like he's a child."You just have to do what's best for you Womens Jon Weeks Jersey ," he said. "He's going to be all right. Football is about getting hit and taking hits and giving hits. So if I get a penalty for saving my skin and trying to make big plays, then, oh well."There's only been a handful of flags, meanwhile, for players lowering their helmet, another point of emphasis, showing that players, coaches and officials have all adjusted accordingly to that rule change.AP Pro Football Writer Arnie Stapleton and Sports Writers Tom Withers and Genaro C. Armas contributed.

GREEN BAY Womens Vince Biegel Jersey , Wis. (AP) — When Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers gets ready for his 15th season, he’ll be working with a new coach and offensive coordinator.Plus, for the first time in his career, he’ll be directing a new offense. At least there will be a constant for the 35-year-old quarterback: the return of Luke Getsy as quarterbacks coach.A quality control coach in 2014 and 2015 and receivers coach in 2016 and 2017, Getsy spent last season as offensive coordinator and receivers coach at Mississippi State. His presence should ease the adjustments for the two-time MVP.“You’ve got to earn people’s trust, show them how much you care before they’re going to care about you and want to do well for you,” Getsy said on Monday as the team introduced the staff of new coach Matt LaFleur.“I think that phase is probably going to just happen quicker, naturally, being here for four years and creating a relationship. That part of it makes the transition much easier.“Installing a new offense and the new principles and all that stuff, we’ve got a lot of work to do. We’re going to rely on the relationship as far as the mutual trust, respect we have for each other, but we’ve got a lot of work to do to get him to dive into this offense fully and being able to function at a high level.”LaFleur said that Getsy’s history with the team was another reason for his hiring.“Certainly, we’re going to find the best quarterback coach that’s out there,” LaFleur said. “Some things that I really did like about Luke was the fact that he played quarterback in college. I reached out not only to Aaron http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-josh-jackson-jersey , but a couple other guys with him being in the building before, just to find out what they thought of him as a man and as a coach, and everybody gave him a thumbs-up.”Rodgers’ introduction into the new offense can’t start until the beginning of the offseason program on April 1.There’s a lot for the new coaching staff to do before the players return in six weeks, including preparation for the scouting combine, which begins later this month.LaFleur, Getsy and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett all will have input in the quarterbacks room. Making sure they’re delivering the same message to Rodgers and fellow quarterbacks DeShone Kizer and Tim Boyle will be key.“We’ve got three quarterback guys that are going to be hitting him from all angles,” LaFleur said. “I know that I need to be in that room as much as I possibly can because I am going to be the play-caller. I think that relationship between the play-caller and the quarterback is absolutely critical. I don’t foresee ever missing a quarterback meeting.”Getsy arrives at the change with a unique perspective. He spent four seasons teaching former coach Mike McCarthy’s playbook. Now, he’s spent a few weeks learning LaFleur’s playbook. Getsy said terminology will be the biggest change for Rodgers.“It has the West Coast roots. The backbone is what he’s comfortable,” Getsy said. “The timing, the rhythm and all that stuff that he’s really, really good at, I think that’s all there.“The principles are there. It’s just speaking the language. That’ll be the biggest thing — for everybody — because there’s a lot of people in this building that have been here a while and have been ingrained in the previous terminology.”Notes: LaFleur finalized his staff on Monday by promoting Chris Gizzi to strength and conditioning coordinator and retaining Mark Lovat, Thadeus Jackson and Grant Thorne as assistants. Gizzi spent the past five seasons working under Lovat, who had been the coordinator since 2010. “That is a critical hire Brett Hundley Jersey White ,” LaFleur said. “You talk about the guys that are going to talk to the team the most, it’s going to myself, it’s going to be the special teams coordinator and it’s going to be the strength coach. Those three positions are absolutely critical to our success moving forward.” MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The final weekend of November has arrived, with this Green Bay-Minnesota game predictably carrying plenty of weight toward the race for the NFC playoffs. The twist, though, is the Packers and Vikings are stuck in the thick of the wild-card mix. The Bears, having beaten the Vikings last week, are the team with a healthy lead in the NFC North, which has been won only by Green Bay (five) or Minnesota (two) since Chicago’s last division title in 2010.“I definitely didn’t expect to be sitting where we’re sitting, but our record is what it is,” Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. “Obviously, Minnesota has a strong team. They’re probably surprised where they’re sitting as well. So I don’t think either of us is out of the division race.”Both the Packers (4-5-1) and Vikings (5-4-1) have one more game remaining against the Bears (8-3), but they’re each lugging that 29-all tie in Green Bay on Sept. 16 down the stretch like a back tire that’s low on air.“Maybe it will help us, and maybe it’ll hurt us Marwin Evans Jersey White , too,” Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said. “I don’t really know.”The Packers will play three of their final five games at home, which is helpful because they’ve yet to win on the road this year. They’ll have a more-mobile Rodgers than in their last matchup with the Vikings, when he was grinding through a knee injury.“He looks like his old self, unfortunately,” Zimmer said.If the Vikings beat the Packers at home for the third straight time, they’ll at least own a tiebreaker over their biggest rival. They’d still be 1½ games behind the Bears, though, with a difficult stretch of the schedule ahead.“We’ll definitely have to play four quarters,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said, “and maybe more than that.”Here are some other key angles to follow with the game:NOT-SO-PRIME TIMEThe Vikings are playing in the NFL’s premier Sunday night slot for the second straight week, triggering a magnification of their struggles with the bright lights on this season. They’ve lost all three of their night games, in Los Angeles to the Rams on Sept. 27, at home against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 28. and at Chicago last week. The Rams http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-oren-burks-jersey , Saints and Bears boast the top three records in the NFC, a combined 28-5.“I guess we’re just playing good teams,” Zimmer said. “That might be the real factor.”Cousins has a 4-12 career record as a starter when kickoff is in the evening, though he has a 68 percent completion rate with 31 touchdowns and 16 interceptions and an average of 305 passing yards in those 16 games.“It gets a little bit convoluted when you try to look at a stat and pair it with a player,” Cousins said. “It becomes maybe a bigger, more complicated picture than just a win-loss record and trying to judge performance.”THIRD DOWNERSThe Packers are 19th in the NFL with a 38 percent conversion rate on third down. They’re up against a Vikings defense that leads the league on third downs, allowing the chains to move only 28 percent of the time. One problem for the Packers has been the absence of wide receiver Randall Cobb, long one of Rodgers’ most reliable options. He has missed half of Green Bay’s games with a hamstring injury, including the last two contests, but he could return to action Sunday.SACKMASTER FACKRELLOutside linebacker Nick Perry missed Green Bay’s last game at Seattle, but third-year backup Kyler Fackrell made his absence moot with three sacks, his second such performance this season. Fackrell has eight sacks this year, more than starters Perry and Clay Matthews combined.“The more you play, the more you get comfortable with it Vince Biegel Jersey White , the less encumbered you are with the thinking part,” defensive coordinator Mike Pettine said.JONESING FOR THE BALLPackers running back Aaron Jones didn’t play against the Vikings earlier this season because of a suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Jones has 342 rushing yards and four touchdowns over the last four games, plus 12 receptions for 100 yards and a score. He’s the league leader in yards per rush with an average of 6.4.HELP FROM HARRISVikings safety Andrew Sendejo will miss his sixth straight game because of a groin injury, but Anthony Harris has capably filled in as the starter in the previous two games. He had two interceptions against the Bears.“I’m just coming in each day preparing like I’m going to be out there every snap and just trying to take advantage of any opportunities given,” Harris said. “So each year, I’ve just been trying to take strides in getting better and increase my role and help this team win.”Harris signed with the Vikings in 2015 as undrafted rookie out of Virginia. Zimmer praised his progress with becoming more of a physical player as well as gaining a better understanding of the system.“I just think confidence,” Zimmer said. “You know, he sees things and reacts. He’s a good visual player, I think. He’s very smart.”

With the Detroit Lions’ offseason well underway Michael Roberts Jersey , we continue our 2018 roster review. Today’s case in review is that of backup quarterback Matt Cassel. Previously: Luke Willson, Ezekiel Ansah, LeGarrette BlountMatt CasselOutlook before 2018: Matt Cassel is a journeyman if there ever has been such a thing. Throughout his 14-year career, Cassel has made stops in Kansas City, New England, Minnesota, Dallas, Buffalo, and Tennessee, and landed in Detroit for the 2018 season. At first, is seemed as though Cassel was simply brought in to give incumbent backup quarterback Jake Rudock a little push, but it wasn’t long before Rudock was supplanted as backup in training camp. Preseason football was a pain to watch as neither performed well by any means Taylor Decker Jersey , but Cassel edged out Rudock for the job late in the preseason. While Cassel got the backup quarterback job, it was clear that the Lions were in deep trouble if he ever saw the field. Actual Role in 2018:2018 stats: 7-of-17 (41.2%), 59 yards, 0 TD, 1 INTPFF grade: 48.6Cassel didn’t see much playing time out of necessity, and the Lions were lucky for that. He did have a brief stint in the Lions’ Week 1 opener against the Jets, going 2-for-6 for 14 yards with an interception. He also saw action in the Lions’ Week 16 matchup against the Vikings after Matthew Stafford was pulled in the fourth quarter in what had turned into a lost cause. Aside from that, however, Cassel was limited to the sideline.Outlook for 2019: Contract Status: Unrestricted free agentWith an expiring contract heading into 2019, the Lions should not and probably will not retain Cassel. If Matthew Stafford went down in 2018, the season was instantly a lost cause with Cassel at quarterback, and Bob Quinn can’t let that be the case again next season. The Lions have already brought in former Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook A’Shawn Robinson Jersey , but don’t let that rule out signing another backup or even drafting a quarterback. Whatever happens at backup quarterback next year, don’t expect it to involve Cassel. DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Lions won at Arizona for the first time since 1993, and the game was about as tedious as expected between a pair of also-rans.For Zach Zenner, though, it was a day to remember.Zenner was the only offensive player to reach the end zone Sunday in Detroit’s 17-3 victory , and he led the Lions in rushing with 54 yards on 12 carries. Detroit is still a longshot to reach the playoffs, but Zenner could have a lot to play for down the stretch. With Kerryon Johnson out injured, Zenner is trying to make the most of his opportunities.“It’s just fun to get to run the ball again. I like running the ball,” Zenner said after the game. “Fun to be behind a good offensive line and to have those holes open up like that. Those guys are doing a great job. I really enjoyed the opportunity and let’s keep rolling and get a few more wins.”Zenner rushed for 334 yards during the 2016 season for the Lions, but he’s played sparingly since then. He hurt his back in this year’s preseason finale and was waived in September, but he was back with the team by mid-November.Johnson, a dynamic rookie from Auburn Graham Glasgow Jersey , has helped rejuvenate Detroit’s previously anemic running game, but he’s missed three straight games with a knee injury. That’s left Zenner, LeGarrette Blount and Theo Riddick as the team’s top running threats.“I think Zach, again, he’s one of those guys that does a phenomenal job of just preparing and being ready to go, whatever the situation is,” coach Matt Patricia said Monday. “He goes out and plays a lot of special teams for us and he does a lot of different things that can help us win or can help us win in special teams and also on the offensive side of the ball.”Detroit (5-8) took a 10-0 lead over the Cardinals in the third quarter, when Darius Slay returned an interception 67 yards for a touchdown. The only other TD came on Zenner’s 1-yard run with 4:05 left in the game. The Lions won despite gaining only 218 yards.“I’m just excited to come away with a win. I think everybody has different views on what they think is exciting from football,” Patricia said. “I tend to like the struggle, I like the battle, I like all of it. So, I think back in the day when I was growing up Jake Rudock Jersey , SEC football used to be like 7-3 and I thought those were exciting, I thought they were great games. So, it doesn’t really matter however the game goes, you just have to try to find a way to win.”Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford passed for only 101 yards, his lowest output since the 2010 season opener, when he left with an injury. The Lions were able to win anyway thanks to their defense — and the contributions of players such as Zenner.“He like everyone else is battling through things at this moment health-wise and doing a great job of being really effective,” Stafford said. “Part of what makes him a really good football player is he’s always ready to go. He’s always ready to go, he’s locked into his game plan and did a great job of hitting some runs right where they needed to hit.”

The Dolphins' many mistakes changed the momentum and left them stunned."I didn't know what happened," Tannehill said of his fumble that rookie Sam Hubbard returned 19 yards for the clinching score. The Dolphins came into the game with concerns about both of their lines. They'd lost two starters on the offensive line, and the defensive line was depleted with end Cameron Wake hurt and tackle Jordan Phillips released after a poor game that included a sideline outburst.Yet, there they were http://www.thebengalslockerroom.com/authentic-kevin-huber-jersey , in control in the third quarter with a chance to finish off the Bengals (4-1), who were out of sync and struggled to do anything consistently. The Dolphins helped them greatly.First, Martrell Spaight drew a 15-yard penalty for taunting a Bengals player after a punt return. A personal foul on T.J. McDonald on a failed third-down play extended Cincinnati's touchdown drive that turned the momentum."We were struggling to get anything going," Cincinnati punt returner Alex Erickson said.Andy Dalton's touchdown pass to Joe Mixon got the crowd excited and gave the Bengals a sense of hope. The Dolphins knew they'd contributed to the change in momentum."We had two penalties on that drive that killed us," coach Adam Gase said.Tannehill's two turnovers changed everything.Under pressure, he tried to avoid a sack by dumping the ball at the feet of Durham Smythe. The ball hit the tight end's helmet and deflected directly to Michael Johnson, who ran 22 yards untouched for the tying touchdown."It's probably a play where he just needs to eat it and take a sack," Gase said.Tannehill then lost a fumble when he was hit by Carlos Dunlap http://www.thebengalslockerroom.com/authentic-randy-bullock-jersey , the ball flying directly to Hubbard for the clinching touchdown return."I heard the crowd cheer and everyone run away from me, so I knew something bad happened," said Tannehill, who was 20 of 35 for 185 yards.Miami made the big plays early, but couldn't close it out with a 17-0 lead. Kiko Alonso picked off Andy Dalton's tipped pass near the end zone to stop Cincinnati's opening drive, Vincent Taylor blocked a Bengals field goal attempt, and Jakeem Grant returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown with 23 seconds left in the first half. The Dolphins suffered another injury to their line when left tackle Laremy Tunsil went out with a concussion in the fourth quarter, another factor in their implosion."Our left tackle wasn't in Womens Nick Vigil Jersey ," Gase said. "That kind of can do some damage. And when you get behind, it causes problems." CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals‘ depleted defense went with an all-out blitz, hoping to push the Steelers out of field goal range. Instead, Ben Roethlisberger threw a short pass that Antonio Brown turned into a 31-yard touchdown with 10 seconds left, and the Bengals’ litany of last-second losses grew with another mindboggling finish.Brown’s catch-and-run into the end zone gave Pittsburgh a 28-21 victory Sunday that evened up the AFC North and left the Bengals (4-2) trying to figure out what happens next. That final play will stick with them for a while.Defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said Monday that he decided to blitz in hopes of pushing the Steelers (3-2-1) out of Chris Boswell’s range. The Steelers trailed 21-20 and could have won with a field goal.“We just decided to go after them,” Austin said. “I want our guys to play aggressive, we’re playing to win, and they had a good play called.”When Roethlisberger saw the Bengals had no safety guarding against a big play John Miller Jersey White , he knew Brown would have a clear path to the end zone. He took the snap and quickly tossed it to Brown, who ran untouched for Pittsburgh’s seventh straight win in the series. In the aftermath, the Bengals were left trying to pick up the pieces of a defense that lost numerous players and is headed to Kansas City for a game Sunday night. The Chiefs (5-1) have one of the league’s top offenses and are coming off a 43-40 loss to New England.Linebacker Nick Vigil left in the first quarter with an injured left knee and is out indefinitely. Cornerback Darqueze Dennard hurt his right shoulder late in the first half and didn’t return. Safety Shawn Williams left with a concussion in the third quarter. Others were in and out of the lineup with injuries. The defense starred in Cincinnati’s solid start, scoring three touchdowns and finishing off three games by getting turnovers. With a chance to end the Bengals’ streak of abysmal finishes against the Steelers, the defense failed to hold on.The Steelers got the ball at their 23-yard line with 1:12 left and three timeouts. Roethlisberger completed passes of 8 and 10 yards to JuJu Smith-Schuster. A holding call on cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick provided a first down.Roethlisberger completed another pass that Smith-Schuster turned into a 23-yard gain and put them in field goal range with 15 seconds left and two timeouts. That play put the Steelers in position to pull it out.“That was one there that he found the hole in the coverage,” Austin said. “Every coverage has got a little bit of a weakness in it, and where they hit us was right behind the linebackers and just in front of the safeties.”Although Boswell has struggled this season, he has never missed a kick at Paul Brown Stadium. He had a game winner with 14 seconds left in Pittsburgh’s 18-16 playoff victory in 2015. He had another on the final play of a 23-20 victory last December.Austin decided to take a chance with a blitz Geno Atkins Jersey , hoping to drop a runner for a loss or sack Roethlisberger, rather than leave Boswell in position to kick another game winner.“I didn’t want to leave it into the field goal kicker’s hands and allow him because it’s not every day you block a field goal,” Austin said.DEFENDING BURFICT: Coach Marvin Lewis declined again on Monday to address linebacker Vontaze Burfict’s latest hit to Brown’s head . Burfict hit Brown in the shoulder and helmet with his forearm as the receiver was being tackled by Shawn Williams and Jessie Bates.Brown was shaken up and left the game for a couple of plays. The officials didn’t flag the play, but the NFL could discipline Burfict after reviewing it. Burfict was suspended by the league for hitting Brown in the head during the 2015 playoff game and was suspended for the start of the next season. He also was suspended for the first three games of the 2017 season for an egregious hit during a preseason game. He sat out the first four this year for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.“Everybody makes a comment on everything that 55 does,” Lewis said, using Burfict’s number. “They don’t comment on anything anybody else does, so let’s leave it at that.”

BOSTON (AP) The Boston Bruins have signed Ryan Donato to a two-year Leon Draisaitl Jersey , entry-level deal and say the U.S. Olympic star could play for them right away.Donato had 26 goals and 17 assists in 29 games this season at Harvard. He led the United States with five goals and six points at the Olympics as one of its youngest players. The 21-year-old is eligible to be in Boston’s lineup Monday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets, a big boost to a Stanley Cup contender down the stretch.Donato was a second-round pick for Boston in 2014, and the team retained his rights while he played for his father, Ted Donato, a former Bruin who has been the coach at Harvard since 2004. The Boston native said at the Olympics it was always a dream for him to play in the NHL and for the Bruins, but he didn’t want to make any declarations about his future, which could soon include playoff action.”At the end of the day I want to graduate as well,” Donato said after the U.S. was eliminated at the Olympics. ”We’ll see what the future holds.”The Bruins are currently without center Patrice Bergeron (fractured foot), left wing Jake DeBrusk (upper body) and right wing/center David Backes (laceration) because of injuries.”No I don’t think it tipped the scales either way. I think Ryan might’ve looked at it as an even bigger opportunity for him to go in and possibly play as early as (Monday),” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said about his team’s injury list http://www.officialhockeypanthersshop.com/authentic-adidas-roberto-luongo-jersey , which also includes defensemen Zdeno Chara (upper body) and Charlie McAvoy (sprained MCL). ”From our standpoint, we had always been committed to providing the opportunity to Ryan if and when he decided to leave school. And I think a few things just kind of lined up accordingly.”Despite their injury issues, the Bruins are just four points behind the Tampa Bay Lightning for the top spot in the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference with two games in hand. But there is no timetable for the return of any of the injured players, and Sweeney saw the signing of Donato as a chance to add to coach Bruce Cassidy’s depth.”My expectations are that he’ll get his feet wet and show us what he can do at this level. We’re not going to put any pressure on him to say, `You have to produce,”’ Sweeney said. ”He’s going to be another player that the coach will have an opportunity to play.”Asked if he thought his son was NHL-ready, Ted Donato said, ”There are so many factors involved in being NHL-ready, one certainly would be the opportunity presented yourself and the right timing.” That timing was obviously right after Harvard did not make the NCAA Tournament and the Bruins got him signed.—

SEATTLE (AP) — The NHL will make the Emerald City the home for its 32nd franchise after Seattle’s expansion bid was approved by the league’s Board of Governors. The move gives Seattle the major winter sports franchise it currently lacks and puts hockey in a market where the NHL believes it will thrive. A rundown of things to know about the decision:WHY SEATTLE?Seattle is the biggest U.S. market that doesn’t have either an NBA or NHL team. Its economy has boomed in the past decade since the departure of the NBA’s SuperSonics to Oklahoma City. It’s a city with disposable income and the itch to spend it on a new team. A season-ticket drive last spring had to be cut off at more than 30 Nick Jensen Jersey ,000 deposits.WHERE WILL THEY PLAY?The arena at Seattle Center is undergoing a $700 million privately financed renovation. The building started out as the Seattle Center Coliseum for the 1962 World’s Fair and has been the home for the NBA, minor league hockey and thousands of concerts and events. Its roof was given historic landmark designation, adding a complication to the construction, but it will essentially be an entirely new building built underneath the roof. The arena will hold 17,400 for hockey and is being designed with the idea of having the NBA return someday.WHEN DOES THE PUCK DROP?The 2021-22 season. Seattle would have loved to have its team take the ice for the 2020-21 season, but arena renovations may not be done in time and no one wants to risk it. Preliminary work has been underway on the arena since an agreement between Oak View Group and the city of Seattle was finalized in late September Thomas Vanek Jersey , but the heavy work can now get started. The construction requires a significant amount of digging to create the space needed for a modern building under that roof.Labor uncertainty also hovers over all things NHL because owners or players can vote in September 2019 to opt out of the current collective bargaining agreement one year later — right before the beginning of the 2020 season.NAME? COLORS? LOGO?Good luck getting any info from the ownership group about a potential name. They have given no hints while the public has taken to online suggestions that include everything from the Metropolitans, Totems and Breakers (tributes to Seattle’s hockey history) to the Pilots, Steelheads, Sockeyes and even the Kraken. The expectation is that the franchise name will be announced sometime in the first half of 2019.As for colors, it’s anyone’s guess. Seattle franchises almost all have a shade of green included, so don’t be surprised if that’s part of the scheme.SWEET 16?The addition of Seattle will give the Western Conference a 16th team to mirror the East. The Central Division has seven teams and the Pacific Division has eight. Seattle will be placed in the same division with Vancouver Womens Adam Larsson Jersey , the closest team by geography, so that means Arizona will be moved out of the Pacific and into Central starting with the 2021 season.VEGAS, PART TWO?NHL general managers will be a little more leery about the players made available in the expansion draft after watching Vegas go all the way to the Stanley Cup Final in its first year last season. Seattle may not have the same immediate success as the Golden Knights, but with the management team in place — coach and GM still pending — don’t be surprised if Seattle is successful early in its NHL lifetime.
