LOS ANGELES, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Disney's ""The Jungle Book"" remained the most popular movie in North America for a third straight weekend.


""The Jungle Book"" was expected to sell 42.2 million U.S. dollars worth of tickets between Friday morning and the close of business on Sunday night, as the film was down just 31 percent from last weekend' s healthy hold, according to studio estimates gathered by comScore.


The live-action reboot of the 1970s animated feature was expected to cross the 250-million-dollar line of North America box office revenue today. And it has grossed over 684 million dollars worldwide.


In second place was ""The Huntsman: Winter's War,"" in its second week of showings, with only 9.4 million dollars weekend. The total gross of it in first 10 days is up to 34 million dollars.


An R-rated comedy ""that defies description"" from the comedy team of Key & Peale, ""Keanu,"" debuted in third place, said movie analyst Paul Degarabedian. It premiered with 9.4 million dollars in sales from 2,658 locations across America and Canada.


Starring Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key, ""Keanu"" received positive reviews from critics on RottenTomatoes, which shows 75 percent of recommendation. It received a respectable ""B"" rating from first-night moviegoers on CinemaScore, which shows a relatively good result for an R-rated comedy.


The audience breakdown for the film skewed slightly toward male moviegoers (53 percent) and heavily toward moviegoers over the age of 25 (71 percent).


The remaining 10 most-popular movies this weekend were ""Mother's Day""(8.3 million dollars), ""Barbershop: The Next Cut""(6.2 million), ""Zootopia""(5 million), ""Ratchet and Clank""(4.8 million), ""The Boss""(4.3 million), ""Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"" (3.8 million) and ""Criminal"" (1.3 million).

UNITED NATIONS, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- As U.S. President Donald Trump is under fierce criticism over the Charlottesville violence Kansas City Chiefs Youth Jersey , there come voices from the United Nations urging the White House to "unequivocally and unconditionally" reject racist violent events.


CONDEMNATION ON RACIST VIOLENCE


The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) on Wednesday issued a statement, calling on the United States and its high-level politicians to "unequivocally and unconditionally" reject and condemn racist hate speech and crimes in Charlottesville of Virginia State and throughout the country.


"There should be no place in the world for racist white supremacist ideas or any similar ideologies that reject the core human rights principles of human dignity and equality," the statement said.


"We are alarmed by the racist demonstrations, with overtly racist slogans, chants and salutes by white nationalists Los Angeles Chargers Youth Jersey , neo-Nazis, and the Ku Klux Klan, promoting white supremacy and inciting racial discrimination and hatred," said CERD chief Anastasia Crickley.
