NFL: One of these 7 teams will win the Super Bowl Is Blake Bortles still the quarterback? Is the quarterback position still the most important in football? The answer to both of those questions is "yes," unfortunately for Jacksonville. We should also point out that the Jaguars needed tremendous injury luck and one of the league's easiest 2017 schedules just to make it to 10-6. Forget about the Super Bowl, a reversal in luck could see this up-and-coming team miss out on the playoffs entirely, especially if Bortles continues making throws like this…On paper, the these Packers have enough talent to win a Super Bowl, but Aaron Rodgers isn't likely to get less injury prone as he ages (and he's broken the same clavicle twice now), the pass rush is still an issue and the cornerback group is made up of rookies and second-year pros. The best teams in this league are the ones that can pass and defend the pass. If Rodgers gets hurt, the pass rush performs as expected and the young corners disappoint, Green Bay will struggle to do either. There are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about this Saints team, but there are just as many reasons to expect a little regression. In fact, we actually saw that already start to happen toward the end of the season when the running game that the team leaned on so heavily during its eight-game win streak tailed off. And then there's Drew Brees' age. He's still one of the very best quarterbacks in the league, but we can't ignore the obvious signs of decline - namely, the lack of downfield throws this

offense used to run on. On the other side of the ball, it's still Cameron Jordan or bust when it comes to pass rush. And the team decided to trade up for Marcus Davenport, a raw pass rusher, instead of adding more pieces to the defense. If there isn't some serious in-house improvement, it's hard to see where this team got demonstrably better over the offseason. Now that that's out of the way, onto this year's pack of Super Bowl contenders, ranked by how much confidence we have in them…Why they're on this list: I mean, do I really need to explain myself here? Bill Belichick is still https://www.rodgersfanstore.com/authenti...-sale-1_25.html here and still the best coach in football. Tom Brady is still here and still really https://www.rodgersfanstore.com/authenti...-sale-1_39.html good at playing football. Rob Gronkowski decided not to retire (like that was ever going to happen). Julian Edelman is back (or will be back after a PED suspension). Brandin Cooks and Danny Amendola are gone, but losing receivers has never been an issue for Brady. The offensive line has question marks, but the last time the Pats had a questionable line, in 2014, they ended up winning it all anyway. So, yeah, the offense is going to be good. The defense should be a lot better than it was a year ago, too. Adrian Clayborn and Derek Rivers will improve a pass rush that took the 2017 season off. The run defense was putrid a season ago, but Danny Shelton is now clogging the middle and Dont'a Hightower returns from injury. Losing Malcolm Butler hurts, but Belichick knows how to scheme around a weak cornerback group. The Patriots are going to win their 13 games, secure home-field advantage and the rest should take care of itself. Unless, of course…Why they won't win the Super Bowl: Tom Brady could get hurt. He's 41, and older players tend to have a harder time staying healthy, no matter how much avocado ice cream they consume. Playing behind a bad offensive line increases the probability of Brady suffering an injury, which would bring this whole thing crashing down. I know what you're thinking: 2008! Brady went down in Week 1 and the Pats still won 11 games. They also had Randy Moss and Wes Welker and a far more talented defense. Why they're on this list: One of the league's deepest rosters only got stronger in the offseason. The stacked defensive line added a Pro Bowler in Sheldon Richardson, who will make Mike Zimmer's pressure packages nastier than they already were. Stud RB Dalvin Cook returns from an injury that ended his rookie season back in September. And the team gave Kirk Cousins $84 million guaranteed. No big deal. With Cook returning and Cousins now in the fold, Minnesota's offense should be better. At least, in theory. The NFL's best defense could also be better if Richardson is fully engaged and the young corners take a step forward. Everson Griffen looked like a Defensive Player of the Year candidate before a midseason injury stifled his play down the stretch. He should be healthy, allowing Zimmer to rely less on the blitz to disrupt quarterbacks.Heading into Championship Sunday, the Vikings appeared to be the best team in football. Then "38-7" happened. Minnesota could have easily just opted to "run it back," but instead actively tried to improve the roster. And succeeded. Why they won't win the Super Bowl: Cousins may very well be an upgrade over Case Keenum, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be able to exceed what the new Broncos starter was able to do a season ago. And one of the things that made Keenum so great was his ability to create when his pass protection broke down. That's never been one of Cousins strengths. The architect of the offense is also gone, with Pat Shurmur headed to New York. Who knows how this very talented supporting cast will adapt to a new play-caller and quarterback? Why they're on this list: Of course we had to include the Super Bowl champs on this list. But it's not like the Eagles don't belong here after a proactive offseason allowed Philly to somehow improve its roster after winning it all. That never happens in the NFL, but here we are.The team's biggest strength, its nightmarish defensive line, is somehow better after adding Michael Bennett, who is still really good, and Haloti Ngata, who is still really big, to the rotation, which is still being led by the likes of Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham. Behind them, Jordan Hicks is back at linebacker. And the secondary, the team's lone weakness a season ago, should be better with another year of seasoning.Of course, this offense playing to its full potential is wholly dependent on Carson Wentz's

knee. Sure, Nick Foles looked good during his magical playoff run, but looked lost before that and did not inspire confidence in his first preseason start. Even if the Eagles don't get stellar play out of the quarterback position, the offensive line should be dominant once again. The receiving corps will be better than it was a year ago with Mike Wallace offering an upgrade over Torrey Smith as a field stretcher and Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Algohor and Mack Hollins all returning. The Eagles lost tight ends Trey Burton and Brent Celek, which would be a concern if rookie Dallas Goedert wasn't tearing it up in preseason.Wentz will need time to get back to full strength, but, come playoff time, this team could be even better than it was a year ago. That's a scary thought. Why they won't win the Super Bowl: The Eagles' passing game was in a league of its own on third down and in the red zone, which is why the offense was so good in 2017. That's not a bad thing, obviously. But it also doesn't mean much for the upcoming season. Third down and red zone performance doesn't have a strong year-to-year correlation, so expect some regression to the mean for this offense in 2018. Throw in some Wentz rustiness or Foles crashing back down to earth, and you'll have an offense that isn't nearly as effective as it was a season ago.The offense will fall even further if LT Jason Peters doesn't return to full strength after tearing his ACL at age 35. Or if the defensive line isn't healthy. Both Timmy Jernigan and Graham underwent offseason surgery, and Chris Long and Michael Bennett are both on the wrong side of 30. The 2017 team won games in the trenches. It'll need both lines to be healthy if it's going to do the same in 2018.Why they're on this list: There's an argument to be made that the Steelers are the best team in football. At least on paper. This is certainly the most talented offense. Pittsburgh lost Martavis Bryant, and, you're not going to believe this, immediately found a replacement (possibly an upgrade) in James Washington, who is already making ridiculous plays in his first preseason. The offensive line is good across the board and has been playing together for years. Le'Veon Bell might not be worth a big-money investment but he's a valuable weapon. And, oh yeah, Antonio Brown might be the best receiver since Jerry Rice. We didn't even mention Ben Roethlisberger, who is still a top-10 passer.Pittsburgh's defense has let the team down in recent years, but it was quietly pretty good last season, finishing ninth in defensive DVOA. Losing Ryan Shazier hurts, and the team is banking on John Bostic to fill that massive void (spoiler: he won't), but there is enough talent on the defensive depth chart to make up for that loss. T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree are a good pair of edge rushers. The interior line is only underrated because all 3-4 defensive linemen are. Artie Burns is improving at corner. Joe Haden seems to have gotten all the Browns stink off him. And the safety position - the unit's weakest link a year ago - should be better after the team signed Morgan Burnett and drafted Terrell Edmunds.Even if the Steelers defense takes a major step back without Shazier on the field, it may not matter if the offense plays to its potential under new offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner, who, at the very least, won't be feuding with Ben Roethlisberger throughout the season. Pittsburgh is going to score a million points this season. That's only a slight exaggeration. Why they won't win the Super Bowl: Well, for one, Tom Brady still exists and has spent the last decade filleting the Steelers defense. And this team is still liable to drop one or two games it has no business dropping, which, invariably, allows New England to secure home-field advantage. Roethlisberger is injury prone, Bell is always good for a missed game or two and Mike Tomlin is bound to lose this team a game with terrible game management. The Falcons being included on this list may come as a surprise, but I challenge you to pick out an obvious area of weakness on this roster. Contrary to Jalen Ramsey's opinion, Matt Ryan is properly rated as a top-10 quarterback. Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman form the best running back duo in the league. Atlanta added first-round pick Calvin Ridley to a receiving corps already featuring Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu. The offensive line is among the best in the NFL.Dan Quinn's defense didn't live up to expectations in 2017, but there's talent at every level. Grady Jarrett is a monster in the middle of the line and should be even better with space eater Deadrin Senat plugging up the A-gap. Those two monsters in the middle should make Vic Beasley's job a lot easier this season. Deion Jones is

a true sideline-to-sideline linebacker. Keanu Neal has taken up Kam Chancellor's mantle as the league's premier intimidator at the safety position. Ricardo Allen is as solid as they come as a centerfield safety. And as if there wasn't already enough talent on this defense, Desmond Trufant, Robert Alford and Brian Poole form an elite cornerback group. In short, the Falcons are LOADED. And remember, this team was a goal line stand away from knocking off the eventual Super Bowl champs in last year's Divisional Round. The only thing that can stop this team is…Why they won't win the Super Bowl: Coaching. Dan Quinn is solid, though his game management skills aren't necessarily a strength. But the real concern is offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian, who failed to find the right play-call in two of Atlanta's biggest games last year. First there was the ill-fated jet sweep on the goal line against New England. He then followed that up with a terribly uncreative call on fourth down against the Eagles in the playoff loss.
