until the third round this year Gale Sayers Jersey , it’ll be challenging for us to find mock drafts for us to mock this offseason. But the USA Today’s Draft Wire dropped a full seven-rounder earlier this week that we wanted to spotlight for you guys. With the Bears having most of their starters under contract, this draft could be even more best-player-available than in recent years. Besides kicker, there isn’t one glaring hole on the roster, and that’s a testament to general manager Ryan Pace for the rebuild. Pace has found starters in the later rounds through the years, so we know him and his scouts can thrive on day three. Let’s take a look at how the Editor of the Draft Wire, Luke Easterling, has the Bears drafting in the 2019 NFL Draft. Third round 87th overall - Max Scharping, OT, Northern IllinoisA four year starter at NIU has player left tackle, righttackle, and some right guard, and at 6’6”, 320 pounds he definitely looks the part of an NFL offensive tackle. He has excelled as a pass blocker in the MAC, but the NFL is a significant step up. He has the length and the technique to play tackle as a pro Womens Walter Payton Jersey , but it’ll be his foot speed that ultimately determines his position at the next level. Our friends over at Gang Green Nation profiled him in November right here. Fourth round 119th overall - Kendall Sheffield, CB, Ohio StateSheffield, who also stars on the Buckeyes’ track team, may get overdrafted because of his blazing speed and quickness. If he makes it to the third day he would be a good prospect to play nickleback for the Bears. I’d expect his combine 40 time to be the talk of Indy and I think he’ll check in at about 5’11”.Fifth round 151st overall - Elijah Holyfield, RB, GeorgiaWith only 7 receptions in his collegiate career, Holyfield hasn’t shown the type of hands that would make him a fit in Matt Nagy’s offense. His pro day will likely feature him getting a lot of work out of the backfield to see if the lack of receptions was just a product of the offense. He probably would have benefited from another year in school, but after a thousand yard season and averaging 6.4 yards per carry, he felt he was ready. Seventh round 214the overall - Trace McSorley, QB, Penn StateI expect the Bears to get a rookie quarterback in camp somehow, and if there’s one they really like, getting him with a pick instead of chancing him falling to the undrafted free agent poll would be wise. As a three year starter he threw 77 touchdowns to 25 interceptions http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jim-mcmahon-jersey , while just coming in under 10,000 yards passing for his career, but he did just as much damage as a runner with 798 yards rushing and 12 TDS as a senior. Check out Easterling’s mock draft and let us know if this is how you’d draft if you were making the picks for the Bears.
