The new search warrant, first reported by The Hartford Courant, was filed in Bristol Superior Court and dated Dec. 11. It sought recordings of phone calls made by a Hernandez associate, Alexander Bradley, while Bradley was jailed in Hartford in October for failing to appear before a Massachusetts grand jury investigating the 2012 shooting. Bradley has alleged in a pending lawsuit in Florida that Hernandez shot him in the face after they argued outside a Miami club in February 2013. The search warrant filed by Bristol police provides some of the first details of Hernandezs alleged link to the Boston shooting. A third man who was shot in the car but survived, Aquilino Freire, told police an SUV pulled up next to them while they were stopped at a traffic light, and he saw someone in the SUVs back seat laughing, the warrant says. Then, several gunshots were fired from the rear passenger seat into the car, Freire told police. Two other people in the car ran away, Freire said. A witness in another car told investigators that he saw an SUV with Rhode Island license plates run a red light, stop next to the victims car and he heard six gunshots. Another witness gave authorities the same description of the driver and said there was a passenger with hair that was either braided or had beads in it. Henderson missed the cut the past two years in Edmonton and Vancouver and understands what its all about this time, playing about a seven-hour drive from where she grew up. "Definitely there is pressure," Henderson said. "But Im excited to be able to play for my family and friends and show them what I can do. Theyre out there cheering for me, and I know every shot theyre going to be happy either way." Henderson set her expectation at making the cut and then "hopefully climb up the leader board a little bit." Thats a realistic goal two weeks after she finished second to Kristen Gillman at the U.S. Womens Amateur. But this is a different animal for Henderson as the home-country girl whos blossoming into a star. On her way from the putting green to the driving range on Wednesday, several fans stopped her for autographs, photos and or just to chat. When she tees off just before 8:30 a.m. for Thursdays first round, Henderson will get to focus in on just golf. Her caddy, longtime family friend Bunk Lee, will do his part to keep Henderson focused. "I think Brooke is very good at relaxing herself," Lee said. "Shes been exposed to this enough, and she takes care of most of it. Im just there for reassurance and making sure Im doing my job as the caddy and trying to provide the best environment for her to perform in and it all takes care of itself." Kane recalled being overwhelmed at times during her first appearances at the Canadian Womens Open -- then called the du Maurier Classic -- worried that she couldnt live up to external expectations. "Maybe they havent played as well as they would have liked, but I think the future is bright for them." It could be even brighter for Henderson if she continues down her developmental path. On Thursday and Friday, both sides will summarize their versions of the shooting to Thokozile Masipa, the red-robed judge who will determine the fate of the double-amputee Olympic runner. Masipa has sat impassively through most proceedings since the globally televised trial began four months ago in a Pretoria courthouse, but legal experts say she may now, in this final stage, reveal insights into her thinking about the sensational case. "The judge will show where her allegiance lies once she starts asking questions," said Marius du Toit, a former prosecutor and now defence lawyer who is not involved in the trial. "The party that gets hammered by the judge when arguing is the party thats got the short end of the stick when it comes to the ruling." Masipa can interrogate prosecutor Gerrie Nel and chief defence lawyer Barry Roux on their explanations for the killing and evidence in the court record, which amounts to thousands of pages. The prosecution says Pistorius, 27, intentionally shot 29-year-old Steenkamp multiple times before dawn on Feb. 14, 2013 in a fit of anger after a fight.
